PAOLINO, bishop of BÉZIERS. – He occupied the see of this city in the first quarter of the 5th century (cf. L. Duchesne, Fastes épiscopaux de l'ancienne Gaule, 2nd ed., Paris 1907, p. 309); he is probably the author of an epigram in 110 hexameters, fairly regular and of personal inspiration, written around 408, at the time when southern Gaul was being invaded by the Vandals and the Alans.
