**HONORATUS** of LÉRINS. – Monk, born around the end of the 4th century, died at Arles in 429. After returning from a journey to the East, undertaken with his brother Venantius and his spiritual father Caprasius (d. 430), he founded around 410 the famous monastery of Lérins on the model of Eastern monasteries (cf. *Annales Ord. S. Benedicti*, I, p. 14). Later, he became bishop of Arles (426). None of his writings have been preserved. His successor in the see of Arles, St. Hilary, wrote a biography of him full of devotion and enthusiasm.
