PETER OF IBERNIA. – Master of St. Thomas in the Faculty of Arts of the General Studium at Naples (1239).

The ms. Vat. lat. 5988 contains from him a commentary on Porphyry’s Isagoge, on the Periermeneias and on Aristotle’s De longitudine et brevitate vitae, important for the history of method, since the literal exposition is interspersed with quaestiones, as in the commentary of Michael Scot (v. to the Sphaera of John of Sacrobosco). BAYER (v.) has discovered and published a quaestio that Master P. disputed around 1260 before King Manfred: “Utrum membra essent facta propter operationes, vel operationes essent factae propter membra.”
