POSADAS, FRANCISCO de, blessed. — Spanish Dominican, born in Cordova on 25 November 1644, died there on 20 November 1713.
He exercised the apostolate, renewing the fruits of the preaching of s. Vincenzo Ferreri. He was a great penitent and wonder-worker. He wrote ascetical and historical treatises, some of which were published. Among these are: Triumphos de la castidad contra la luxuria diabolica de Molinos (Cordova 1698, 1748; Madrid 1775); Vida del glorioso patriarcha s. Domingo de Guzmán... (Cordova 1701, 1703; Madrid 1748; Barcelona 1790). He was beatified by Pius VII on 20 September 1818; his feast falls on 20 September.
