POSADAS, Francisco de, Blessed. — Spanish Dominican, b. at Córdoba on 25 Nov. 1644, d. there on 20 Nov. 1713.
He exercised his apostolate by renewing the fruits of the preaching of St. Vincent Ferrer. He was a great penitent and wonder-worker. He wrote ascetical and historical treatises, some of which were published. Among these may be mentioned: *Triumphos de la castidad contra la luxuria diabolica de Molinos* (Córdoba 1698, 1748; Madrid 1775); *Vida del glorioso patriarca s. Domingo de Guzmán*... (Córdoba 1701, 1703; Madrid 1748; Barcelona 1790). He was beatified by Pius VII on 20 Sept. 1818; his feast is kept on 20 Sept.
