RAZÓN Y FE. – Monthly journal founded in Madrid in September 1901 by the Jesuits.
The purpose of the periodical, suggested by its title, has always been to provide guidance on current problems, drawing insight both from faith and from reason, which are readily reconcilable. The journal, devoted to general culture, is widely circulated among all Spanish-speaking nations. It was the first to publish in Spain Pius XI’s encyclical Mit brennender Sorge.
Celebrated writers collaborated with R. y F.: historians such as F. Fita, Z. García Villada, and C. Rodeles; men of letters such as Luis Coloma and J. Alarcón; and specialists such as L. Murillo, J. Urráburu, and R. Ruiz Amado.
