RAZÓN Y FE. - Monthly review founded in Madrid in Sept. 1901 by the Jesuits.
The purpose of the periodical, suggested by its title, has
always been to orient readers on current problems, drawing
light from both faith and reason, which are easily reconcilable.
The review, which is one of general culture, is widely circulated
among all Spanish-speaking nations. It was the first
to publish in Spain the encyclicalMit brennender Sorge
of Pius XI.
Celebrated writers contributed to R. y F.: historians such as
F. Fita, Z. García Villada and C. Rodeles
are remembered; men of letters such as Luis Coloma and J. Alarcón, and specialists
such as L. Murillo, J. Urráburu and R. Ruiz Amado.
