CATHOLIC REVIEW OF INSTITUTIONS AND LAW. - A journal initially monthly, then bi-monthly, founded by the Jesuit J. Sambin (1820-92) and Senator Lucien-Brun, published in Grenoble in 1873.
Its aim was to demonstrate, against the baleful effects of the French Revolution, what role religion should have in civil and political institutions and what consequences society has suffered from its absence. It therefore sought to study, in the light of religious doctrine and common sense, constitutional, parliamentary, judicial, economic, industrial institutions, etc., without neglecting their history and the lessons to be drawn from them.
The journal ceased publication in 1940 on account of the Second World War.
