REVUE BIBLIQUE. - A quarterly journal, founded in Paris in 1893 through the work of the Dominican Father Lagrange (v.), and published under the care of the "Practical School of Biblical Studies," established in the Dominican convent of St. Stephen in Jerusalem.
It deals scientifically with all the subjects that serve to bring about a better, deeper and more exact knowledge of the Sacred Books and of their authors, of the environment in which they lived and worked; of the various vicissitudes of the Jewish people and of the ancient peoples who came into contact with them, of their usages, customs, language, literature, inscriptions, monuments, archaeological ruins. Hence expeditions and particular researches on the geography of Palestine; studies on ancient texts and documents rediscovered, reviews of works on the subject. The journal, besides articles and the examination of publications, contains bulletins rich in news on the various subjects and is accompanied by an extensive collection of Etudes bibliques.
