REVUE BIBLIQUE. — A quarterly journal, founded in Paris in 1893 through the work of the Dominican Fr. LAGRANGE, GIUSEPPE LUIGI (v.), and published under the direction of the “Practical School of Biblical Studies,” established in the Dominican convent of St. Stephen in Jerusalem.
It deals scientifically with all the subjects that contribute to a better, deeper, and more exact knowledge of the Sacred Books and their authors, of the environment in which they lived and worked; of the various vicissitudes of the Jewish people and of the ancient peoples who came into contact with them, of their usages, customs, language, literature, inscriptions, monuments, and archaeological ruins. It therefore includes expeditions and particular research on the geography of Palestine; studies of ancient texts and documents rediscovered; and reviews of works on the subject. In addition to articles and examinations of publications, the journal contains bulletins rich in information on the various topics and is accompanied by an extensive collection of Etudes bibliques.
