REVIEW OF ASCETICAL AND MYSTICAL STUDIES. - A bimonthly review founded in Toulouse in 1920 by Fr. J. de Guibert, with the aim of studying spirituality scientifically in all its aspects.
It therefore seeks to develop theological speculation on the subject; it addresses historical questions concerning persons, various currents, and ascetical texts; it offers unpublished documentation, and concerns itself with general and special psychology, especially religious psychology. The issues also contain a special chronicle of news on scientific and practical progress and the various orientations of ascetical and mystical studies, along with a separate bibliographical bulletin of works and studies on asceticism and mysticism, published either separately or in periodicals.
