REVUE D'HISTOIRE DE L'ÉGLISE DE FRANCE. - Quarterly review of historical criticism on problems connected with the development of religious thought and the events of the ecclesiastical hierarchy in the territory of France, organ of the «Société d'histoire ecclésiastique de la France».
It was founded in 1910 by A. Vogt and initially appeared in bimonthly installments, which were to be dedicated to a specific diocese. In 1913 the founder was joined in the direction by V. Carrière, who gave the periodical a new impetus, abandoning the original difficult project. The First World War forced a suspension of publication between the years 1915 and 1919; from 1920 the review resumed publication under the sole direction of V. Carrière, and, after his death (1946), under that of P. Marot. A comprehensive index of the volumes for 1910-30 was published separately by U. Roziès (Paris 1932). Among the articles published, various studies of a methodological nature are particularly noteworthy. Alessandro Pratesi
