RIVISTA DI STORIA DELLA CHIESA IN ITALIA. — It was founded in January 1947; it has been published regularly in four-monthly issues, with the aim of illustrating the most important figures and events in the life of the Italian Church and of coordinating, by the best and most up-to-date means, what is being published on the subject.
It set out to replace the Rivista di scienze storiche, which had been published in Pavia under the direction of Rodolfo Maiocchi from 1904 and had remained suspended for many years. It is headed by a governing council and directed by Msgr. Michele Maccarrone; its publisher is Luigi De Luca.
