ROSMINI, IL. — A philosophical and cultural periodical founded in Milan in 1887. STOPPANI, ANTONIO (v.) was its guiding spirit. Among others, G. Bulgarini, L. M. Billia, A. Cicuto, A. Catena, Bernardino Donati, Rinaldo Ferrini (father of b. Contardo), S. Frati, L. Gastaldi, A. Moglia, Pagano Paganini, A. Tagliaferri, and G. B. Zoppi contributed to II.
The periodical’s principal purpose was the defense of Rosminian doctrines, over which controversy was then particularly intense. Placed on the Index on 29 May 1889, it ceased publication. It was continued under the title Il nuovo Rosmini. All the contributors to the latter appeared either anonymously or under pseudonyms, with the exception of the aforementioned Billia, C. Forzati, L. Fronti, and A. Villa. It had a very brief existence: itself placed on the Index on 26 February 1890, it likewise suspended publication. Giuseppe Bozzetti
