«SALVETE CHRISTI VULNERA». — Hymn of praise for the feast of the Most Precious Blood (v.), by an unknown author of the 18th century (cf. U. Chevalier, Repert. hymnologium, II, Louvain 1897, no. 18329).
After the greeting addressed to the wounds of Christ and the allusion to the episodes of the Passion, there follows an urgent invitation to the sinner to come and wash his sins in this blood.
