SISTERS OF THE POOR OF SANTA CATERINA DA SIENA. — Founded in Siena on 8 Dec. 1873 PETRILLI, SAVINA (v.).
The decree of praise dates from 5 Sept. 1899. The Constitutions were definitively approved on 30 June 1906 and, revised in harmony with the Code, on 11 Feb. 1924.
The sisters care for the poor and the suffering and assist children: schools, workshops, nurseries, boarding schools, residential institutions, shelters, psychiatric hospitals, hospitals, recreation centers. The general house is in Rome; the sisters number more than 750 in approximately 80 houses.
