BISHOP OF SPOLETO OF SPES. - Born toward the end of the 4th century, he governed the Church of Spoleto for 32 years, from 420 to about 452.

Of his life and his activity nothing remains but a metrical inscription of his, composed in honor of the martyr Vitalis, whom he had rediscovered and to whom he dedicated an altar in the church of Terzo della Pieve. S. declares himself Dei servus. He was buried in the cemetery church of the Holy Apostles, where his epitaph was found. His body, in the 8th century, it seems, was transported to Aachen. In the new Proprium of the diocese of Spoleto the feast of S. falls on December 4.
