TIMOTEO II, PATRIARCA NESTORIANO

TIMOTHY II, Nestorian Patriarch. - He succeeded in 1318 the famous Mongol patriarch Jahballāhā III and held the office until 1332.

After him begins the rapid decline of the Nestorian Church. T. is of some importance for the his treatise on the Sacraments (On the seven causes of the ecclesiastical Mysteries), which summarizes the relevant Nestorian doctrine.
