TOMMASO di MARGA. — Nestorian bishop and writer, born in Beit Sarōnajé.
He became a monk in the monastery of Beit 'Abè and became secretary to the patriarch Abramo II, who consecrated him around 850 as bishop of Marga and subsequently metropolitan of Beit Marga. He wrote a history of the monastery of Beit 'Abè entitled Storia dei Superiori, which provides valuable information on monastic life and ecclesiastical events, including the Nestorian missions.
