TRUSZKOWSKA, MARIA ANGELA. - Foundress of the Sisters of St. Felix of Cantalice (Felician Sisters), of the Third Order of St. Francis, in the world Sophia Camilla, b. at Kalisz (Poland) on 16 May 1825, d. at Kraków on 10 Oct. 1899.

As a penitent of Fr. Honorat Koźmiński (v.), a Capuchin, she founded with some companions on 21 Nov. 1854 in Warsaw a hospice for abandoned children. From this beginning there was constituted (1857), under the direction of Fr. Onorato, the new Congregation, which proposes to make reparation for the offenses brought against Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament, by means of adoration and works of charity. After 12 years of government and 30 of physical and moral sufferings, T. died in the odor of sanctity. In 1947 the informative process on her virtues for beatification was begun at Kraków.
