VLADIVOSTOK, Diocese of. — Dependent on the Pontifical Commission for Russia.
Together with Siberia, it was detached from the Diocese of Mohilev on 10 December 1921 and comprises the territory of Primorskaja and Amurskaja Oblasts and the Island of Sakhalin. It was erected as a diocese on 2 February 1923 and in 1925 counted 12 priests, 6 churches, and 200,000 faithful. After the death of Bishop Sliwowski (1933), a confessor of the faith, the diocese has remained orphaned and devastated.
