ZAKU and ZAKHO OF THE CHALDEANS, DIOCESE OF. — In Iraq. The name and title of the diocese are recent.

It originated in 1850 through the division of the Diocese of Amadia into three: Amadia, Akra, and Z. In the territory of the Diocese of Z., union with the Catholic Church spread toward the end of the eighteenth century.
