FOR ESTABLISHING AT THE SACRED CONGREGATION FOR SEMINARIES AND UNIVERSITIES A PONTIFICAL WORK FOR PRIESTLY VOCATIONS
1 Since the Sacred Congregation for Seminaries and Universities has reported to Us that it would be most opportune to establish a primary Work for Priestly Vocations, which proposes to itself to arouse, foster, protect and aid in the Christian faithful — by every means indeed, but especially through various Works of this kind established in individual Dioceses — the will of fostering, protecting and aiding Ecclesiastical Vocations, to disseminate correct knowledge of the dignity and necessity of the Catholic Priesthood, and likewise to call the faithful from all parts of the world into communion of prayers and pious exercises; We, by our own motion and from the fullness of Apostolic power, will and decree that the Work, which We name Pontifical, for Priestly Vocations be established at the same Sacred Congregation, with the added faculty of aggregating Works and persons who shall request it, and at the same time extending all Indulgences and spiritual favors, granted or to be granted, to all who are enrolled.
2 Which indeed shall be ratified, firm and permanent, notwithstanding any contrary provisions whatsoever.
3 Given at Rome, at St. Peter's, on the 4th day of the month of November, on the feast of St. Charles Borromaeus, in the year 1941, in the third year of Our Pontificate.

1 Cum Nobis Sacra Congregatio Seminariis et Studiorum Universitatibus praeposita peropportunum fore renuntiaverit Opus primarium Sacerdotalium Vocationum condere, quod sibi proponat in Christifidelibus — omni sane consilio, sed potissimum per diversa in singulis Dioecesibus constituta id genus Opera — voluntatem excitare fovendi, tuendi iuyandique Ecclesiasticas Vocationes, rectam de dignitate ac necessitate Catholici Sacerdotii notitiam pervulgare, itemque fideles ex omnibus orbis partibus in communionem precum ac piorum exercitiorum vocare; Nos, motu proprio ac de Apostolicae plenitudine potestatis, Opus, quod Pontificium nominamus, Vocationum Sacerdotalium apud eamdem Sacram Congregationem constitutum volumus ac decernimus, addita facultate aggregandi Opera ac personas, quae id postulaverint, simulque omnes Indulgentias et favores spirituales, concessos vel concedendos, ad universos adscriptos extendendi.

PER COSTITUIRE PRESSO LA SACRA CONGREGAZIONE DEI SEMINARI E DELLE UNIVERSITÀ DI STUDI L'OPERA PONTIFICIA DELLE VOCAZIONI SACERDOTALI
1 Poiché la Sacra Congregazione dei Seminari e delle Università di Studi Ci ha riferito che sarebbe sommamente opportuno fondare l'Opera primaria delle Vocazioni Sacerdotali, la quale si proponga nei fedeli cristiani — con ogni mezzo certamente, ma soprattutto per mezzo delle varie Opere di questo genere costituite nelle singole Diocesi — di suscitare, fomentare, tutelare e aiutare le Vocazioni Ecclesiastiche, di divulgare la retta conoscenza della dignità e della necessità del Sacerdozio Cattolico, e inoltre di chiamare i fedeli da tutte le parti del mondo a partecipare alla comunione delle preghiere e degli esercizi pii; Noi, di moto proprio e dalla pienezza della Potestà Apostolica, vogliamo e decretiamo che l'Opera, che Pontificia denominiamo, delle Vocazioni Sacerdotali presso la medesima Sacra Congregazione sia costituita, con l'aggiunta della facoltà di aggregare le Opere e le persone che lo richiederanno, e nel contempo di estendere a tutti gli iscritti tutte le Indulgenze e i favori spirituali, concessi o da concedersi.
2 Ciò sia ratificato, fermo e permanente, nonostante qualsiasi cosa contraria.
3 Dato a Roma, presso San Pietro, il 4 novembre, nella festa di san Carlo Borromeo, nell'anno 1941, nel terzo anno del Nostro Pontificato.
