ANGELERIO, GREGORIO. - Teologo cappuccino
calabrese, n. a Panaja in data sconosciuta, m. a Na-
poli il 15 genn. 1662.
Scrisse opere apologetiche, filosofiche e teologiche in
latino, delle quali vide la luce soltanto: De praeparatione
catholica narrationes septem (Napoli 1653), in cui, confu-
tati gli errori degli atei, pagani, ebrei, turchi, eretici e
scismatici, dimostra la divinità della Chiesa cattolica ro-
mana. Grandiosa è la sua produzione oratoria. Oltre tre
volumi di prediche quaresimoli rimaste inedite, pubblicò:
Il prezioso tesoro del Sangue di Cristo raccolto dalla Sacra
Scrittura e dai Santi Padri in 40 prediche (in fol., Napoli
