ADALBERTO, abbot of SAN GIOVANNI DI TAROUCA. — Sent to Portugal by St. Bernard, together with other monks, under the leadership of Abbot Bohemond, he founded with his group the monastery of S. Giovanni di Tarouca, in the diocese of Lamego, of which he was initially prior and then, upon Bohemond’s death, abbot. His reputation for holiness greatly benefited the monastery. He died in 1125.
