ALOVISIANI, GIACOMO BATTISTA. – An Augustinian, born in Ravenna toward the end of the 1400s, died around 1510. He spent almost his entire life in the convent of S. Stefano in Venice, devoted to teaching and on friendly terms with the most renowned scholars of his time. Sabellico states that he was greatly assisted by him in compiling his history (Epist., IX, 443). He wrote on philosophy, history, and theology. Among other works: De Aurelii Augustini rebus commentaria, and Theoremata de corpore Christi.
