AMMIA. – A Christian woman, endowed with the prophetic charism, who probably lived in the first half of the 2nd century at Philadelphia. Her memory is preserved for us by the anti-Montanist Anonymous cited by Eusebius (Hist. eccl., V, 17). There A. of Philadelphia is named as a prophetess of the New Testament together with Agabus and Judas, mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles (21:10; 15:32), with the daughters of Philip, Quadratus, and others.
