AMMIA. - A Christian woman endowed with the prophetic charism, who probably lived in the first half of the 2nd century in Philadelphia. Her memory is preserved for us by the anonymous anti-Montanist cited by Eusebius (Hist. eccl., V, 17). There A. of Philadelphia is named as a prophetess of the New Testament together with Agabus and Judas, mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles (21, 10; 15, 32), the daughters of Philip, Quadratus and others.
