ANGELINI, ANTONIO. – Jesuit, born at Canepina (Viterbo) in 1809, died at Rome on 12 October 1892. He entered the Society in 1825 and for thirty years taught rhetoric and sacred eloquence at the Roman College. His Lezioni di eloquenza sacra appeared posthumously at Rome in 1893. He was a consultor to various Roman Congregations.
But his fame was above all that of a skilled epigrapher: of the numerous inscriptions he composed, many are collected in Inscriptiones, Libri I-II (Rome 1873), Liber III (there 1880). He also wrote several biographies: Storia della vita del p. Carlo Odescalchi (1850), Ritratto storico politico letterario del marchese Carlo Antici (1854), etc.
