ANNIANUS (ANIANO). - Egyptian monk of the 5th century, author of a Chronographia, cited and used by George Syncellus (9th century), but now lost, which, starting from Adam, stopped at the 22nd year of the patriarchate of Theophilus of Alexandria (ca. 407). The work was distinguished by the conciseness of its exposition, aimed above all at illustrating, even in its details, the traditions of the author's homeland. It also contained an Easter cycle of 532 years.
