ANIANO (ANNIANO). — Egyptian monk of the 5th century, author of a Chronographia, cited and used by George Syncellus (9th century), but now lost; beginning with Adam, it ended in the 22nd year of the patriarchate of Theophilus of Alexandria (around 407). The work was distinguished by the concision of its exposition, aimed above all at illustrating, including in detail, the traditions of the author’s homeland. It also contained a 532-year Paschal cycle.
