ANIANUS (ANNIANUS). — An Egyptian monk of the 5th century, author of a *Chronographia*, cited and used by George Syncellus (9th century), but now lost, which began with Adam and ended at the 22nd year of the patriarchate of Theophilus of Alexandria (c. 407). The work was distinguished by the conciseness of its exposition, aimed particularly at illustrating, even in detail, the traditions of the author’s homeland. It also contained a paschal cycle of 532 years.
