AZUL, Diocese of. - In Argentina, suffragan of Buenos Aires, in the state of the same name, erected on 20 April 1934, with twenty-three parishes from the diocese of La Plata. Cathedral dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary. The diocese has an area of 72,936 sq km and counts 427,500 Catholics out of 450,000 inhabitants; 25 parishes; 49 diocesan priests and 14 regulars.
