BACCI, PIETRO GIACOMO. – From Arezzo, a priest of the Congregation of the Oratory in Rome, where he died in 1656. He is known for his Vita del b. Filippo Neri fiorentino, fondatore della Congregazione dell'Oratorio, raccolta dai processi per la sua Canonizzazione, first printed by Brugiotti in Rome in 1622. It remained the classic biography of St. Filippo, whose spirit it faithfully reproduces; it went through more than 140 reprints and was translated into several languages.
