BOZIO, TOMMASO. - Born in Gubbio in 1548, he took his degree in law at Perugia. He then entered the Congregation of the Oratory of Rome, where he distinguished himself by his piety and learning and was esteemed one of the most cultivated men of his time. He died in 1610.

At the wish of St. Philip Neri, whose disciple he was, he devoted himself to historical studies in defense of the Church and became known for his Annales Antiquitatum (1637), which were the fruit of the studies he carried out during the time when he collaborated with Baronio on the compilation of the Annales Ecclesiastici. He also published several works of canon law and of ascetical and mystical theology; and some literary compilations in Latin and Greek are also known to be his.
