BENINCASA of SIENA. - Decretist, properly from Arezzo, not to be confused with the later canonist of the same name; d. 1206. He taught canon law at Bologna. He was the author of *Casus* on the Decretum, in which he cites texts from the *Compilatio prima* before the Decretals. The work is still in manuscript.
