Benincasa, da Siena

BENINCASA da SIENA. – Decretist, properly from Arezzo, not to be confused with the later canonist of the same name; d. in 1206. He taught canon law at Bologna. He was the author of Casus on the Decretum, in which he cites texts from the Compilatio prima of the Decretals. The work is still in manuscript.
