BONSIGNORI (MONSIGNORI), GIROLAMO. — Veronese painter, who lived in the second half of the 15th century. He was a pupil of Mantegna, to whom he remained faithful for almost his entire life; only in his final period did he draw close to Leonardo da Vinci, executing a copy of the Last Supper, which was greatly admired at the time. A Dominican friar, he worked extensively in the convents where he lived, in Mantua, Verona, and Milan, where he met Leonardo. — Vedi Tav. CX.
