BELBELLO da PAVIA (LUCHINO B.). — Illuminator. Documented from 1448 to 1462. He worked at the court of Mantua for the Gonzaga and at that of Milan for Francesco Sforza; besides various minor works, a Missal of his remains in Mantua and a Bible in the Vatican Library, which, on account of its exquisite decorative taste, earned him a reputation as one of the most notable illuminators of the fifteenth century.
