The Depositions of Bassano and of the Uffizi have clear Umbrian characteristics, which came to him from his master, Perugino, and which, although they weaken in other works owing to the predominance now of the manner of Andrea del Sarto, now of Michelangelo, Raphael and Leonardo, always form the substratum of his art.

Among the best works should be remembered the Baptism of Christ (London), the Lute Player (London, Butler collection), The Angel and Tobias (Berlin, Simon collection), the Lute Player (Florence, Contini-Bonacossi collection).
