«VENI SANCTE SPIRITUS». — Sequence of the Mass of Pentecost, attributed to Stefano Langton (v. PENTECOSTE).
A strophic composition of three-line stanzas consisting of six-syllable lines, not prosodic but accentual; the first two, proparoxytonic, rhyme with each other, while the third, with the clausula ium, rhymes with the final line of each stanza.
