BROWER (BROUWER), CHRISTOPH. - Jesuit, born in 1559 at Arnhem (Guelders, Holland), died in 1617 at Trier. He entered the Society of Jesus in 1580 and served as rector at Fulda and Trier. He published studies in ecclesiastical history, such as *Fuldensium antiquitatum libri III* (Antwerp 1612), and especially the major work of his entire life on the annals of the ecclesiastical province of Trier, printed in Cologne in 1626 and republished in 1670 by his confrere Giacomo Masen with continuations: *Antiquitatum et Annalium Trevirensium libri XXV* (2 vols., Liège 1670). Another of his works, *Metropolis Ecclesiae Trevericae*, similarly edited by Masen, was published in 1855–56 by Christian von Stromberg.
