BUONRICCIO, ANGELICO. — Venetian theologian, who entered at a young age among the Canons Regular of the Most Holy Savior of Bologna, of which he became superior general in 1588; died in Venice in 1610.
Paraphrases of the Gospels and of the Epistles of S. Paolo, in Italian, by B. have been preserved: Pious and Devout Paraphrases on all the Epistles of S. Paolo and the Canonical Epistles (Venice 1565); Pious and Devout Paraphrases on the Gospel of S. Giovanni (Venice 1569), a work incorporated that same year, together with the paraphrases of S. Matteo, into the collection “Ghirlanda spirituale” (XIIth flower), published in Venice by Giolito. In 1566 he published a paraphrase of Aristotle’s books De Anima, and in 1584 a florid, exhortatory Declaration of the Sacred Psalms of David, King and Prophet.
