BUONRICCIO, Angelico. — A Venetian theologian who entered the Canons Regular of the Most Holy Savior in Bologna at a young age and became their superior general in 1588; he died in Venice in 1610.
Of Buonriccio there are preserved evangelical and Pauline paraphrases in Italian: *Le pie e divote parafrasi sopra tutte le Epistole di s. Paolo e le Canoniche* (Venice 1565); *Le pie et divote parafrasi sopra l'Evangelo di s. Giovanni* (Venice 1569), a work incorporated the same year, together with the paraphrases of St. Matthew, into the collection *Ghirlanda spirituale* (XII fiore), published in Venice by Giolito. In 1566 he published a paraphrase of Aristotle’s *De Anima*, and in 1584 an elaborate, hortatory *Dichiarazione dei sacri Salmi di David re e profeta*.
