BUONPENSIERE, ENRICO. - Dominican theologian, b. at Terlizzi on 26 Oct. 1853, d. at Rome on 18 Jan. 1929. He taught dogmatic and moral theology in succession; he was prior of the Minerva (1894-97) and regent of the College of St. Thomas in Rome (1897-1910). When the Angelicum College opened (1910) he suspended his teaching, which he resumed three years later at the Lateran Athenaeum. He was theologian of the Apostolic Datary and consultor of the Congregations of Studies, of the Index and of Propaganda Fide.

He wrote an extensive and subtle commentary on the Summa of St. Thomas, of which, however, he published only two volumes, comprising the treatises De Deo uno (Rome 1902) and De Trinitate (Vergara 1930), the latter posthumous.
