GUIDO CAGNACCI. – Painter, born in S. Arcangelo di Romagna on 20 January 1601, died in Vienna in 1681. In Bologna he studied drawing in particular, and in Venice colour.
Faithful to the language and schemes of his Bolognese master, Guido Reni, he painted in Rimini the Redeemer in the church of the Madonna degli Angeli, the Supper in the Oratory of the Rosary, the Virgin in glory with St Andrew Corsini, and in Forlì, in the Cathedral, the Preaching of St Anthony. Other works of his are in the church of S. Croce in his native town, and of secular subject-matter in Bologna and Vienna.
