CAGNACCI, GUIDO. – Painter, born in S. Arcangelo di Romagna on 20 January 1601, died in Vienna in 1681. In Bologna he studied drawing in particular, and in Venice, colour.
Faithful to the language and models of his Bolognese master, Guido Reni, he painted in Rimini the Redeemer in the church of Madonna degli Angeli, the Last Supper in the Oratory of the Rosary, the Virgin in Glory with s. Andrea Corsini, and in Forlì, in the Cathedral, the Preaching of s. Antonio. Other compositions by him are in the church of S. Croce in his native city, and works on secular subjects in Bologna and Vienna.
