CAGNACCI, GUIDO. - Painter, b. at S. Arcangelo di Romagna on 20 Jan. 1601, d. at Vienna in 1681. In Bologna he studied drawing in particular and in Venice color.

Faithful to the language and the schemes of his Bolognese master, Guido Reni, he composed in Rimini the Redentore in the church of the Madonna degli Angeli, the Cena in the Oratory of the Rosary, the Vergine in gloria con s. Andrea Corsini, and in Forlì, in the Cathedral, the Predicazione di s. Antonio. Other compositions of his are in the church of S. Croce of his native city, and of secular subject matter in Bologna and in Vienna.
