CALBULO

CALBULO. — A Christian poet from Africa, perhaps a bishop, who lived at the beginning of the 6th century. The *Antologia italiana* (no. 378, ed. A. Riese) preserves a poem of his for a baptistery which he had adorned with marbles. It is preceded by four epigrams describing the various stages of the baptismal rite.
