CEREAL. - African bishop of Castellum Ripense, he took part in the religious discussion of 484 at Carthage between Arian and Catholic bishops. Questioned by the Arian bishop Maximinus as to whether he could prove the Catholic thesis with scriptural texts, he composed in dialogue form the Libellus contra Maximinum arianum, in which he rebuts the twenty theses of Maximinus with copious biblical citations: PL 58, 757-68.
