SAINT CYPRIAN OF TOULON. — Bishop of Toulon, born in Marseilles in 476 and died in 546. A favourite disciple of St Caesarius of Arles, he wrote his life in collaboration with two other bishops. He took part in many councils where he vigorously opposed the semi-Pelagianism of the Marseillais.
