CIPRIANO of TOULON, saint. — Bishop of Toulon, born in Marseille in 476 and died in 546. The favorite disciple of St. Cesarius of Arles, he wrote his life in collaboration with two other bishops. He took part in many councils, at which he vigorously opposed the semi-Pelagianism of the people of Marseille.
