Claudius Severus

CLAUDIO SEVERO

CLAUDIUS SEVERUS. - Rhetorician and Peripatetic philosopher, teacher of Marcus Aurelius, who makes honorable mention of him in his Meditations (1, 14). He must also be that C. S. whom Fronto recommends as his friend Sulpicius Cornelianus.His son bore the same name, married a daughter of Marcus Aurelius, and was consul in 163 and 173. He too was a Peripatetic philosopher and a patron of Galen.
