Corrado of Brundelsheim

CORRADO DI BRUNDELSHEIM

CORRADO OF BRUNDELSHEIM. - Abbot (surname Soccus = perhaps Schul) of the Cistercian monastery of Heilsbronn (v.) or Fons salutis (diocese of Bamberg), d. 31 Oct. 1321.

Learned in the Holy Scriptures, in scholastic theology and in belles-lettres, he left, besides notable commentaries on Albert the Great's work on the 4 books of the Sentences, 4 vols. of valuable Sermones on the Sundays and feasts of the whole year (published in 1474). These sermones, delivered in the Chapter to his confreres, are called in vocis.

Perhaps C. is to be identified with the famous "monk of Heilsbronn."
