CRESCI, Pietro da Foligno, Blessed. - Austere ascetic, b. ca. the year 1243, d. July 18, 1323. He was a Franciscan tertiary, an intimate of the b. Angela of Foligno. At the age of thirty he distributed all his possessions to the poor, whom he continued to assist with the earnings from the services he rendered to his employers. He went barefoot, dressed coarsely, and mortified himself with penances; he was an assiduous frequenter of S. Maria degli Angeli. He was buried in the cathedral of Foligno. Feast on July 19.
