DELUIL MARTINY, MARIE DE JÉSUS

DELUIL MARTINY, Marie de Jésus. – Religious, foundress of the Daughters of the Heart of Jesus (v.), born in Marseille on 28 May 1841, and died there on 27 February 1884, killed by a gardener of the House she had founded. Educated by the Sisters of the Visitation, she promoted the spread of the “Guard of Honour” of the Sacred Heart. Animated by a profound spirit of reparation for the offences given to the Sacred Heart, she worked and suffered greatly for this lofty ideal. Her cause of beatification is underway.
