DUDON, PAUL. — Jesuit, historian, b. at Sabres (Landes) on 6 Feb. 1859; d. at Toulouse on 23 March 1941. After completing his studies, he was attached to the periodical *Études* (from 1889 to 1932), where he chose as his field of work the religious history of modern times, with particular regard to that of the Society of Jesus. In 1933, for reasons of health, he moved to Toulouse and continued his work as a writer there.
He composed and published many articles in the principal Catholic cultural journals, in addition to *Études*; for example, *Recherches de science religieuse*, *Revue d’ascétique et de mystique*, *Archivum Historicum S. I.*, etc.; among other particular works may be noted: *Le quiétiste espagnol Michel Molinos, 1628–96* (Paris 1921); *Le gnostique de st Clément d’Alexandrie, opus. inédit de Fénelon* (ibid. 1930); *St Ignace de Loyola* (ibid. 1934).
