ELPIDIO RUSTICO

ELPIDIO RUSTICO. - A poet of the 6th century, belonging to a family of the Rustici in Italy.

He wrote a *Carmen de Christi beneficis* and 24 *Tristiche* under the title: *Historia testamenti veteris et novi*, explanations of works of art in the church such as the *Dittocaccon* of Prudentius. The manuscript used by G. Fabricius in his first edition has not been rediscovered. Reprint of the original edition in *Patrologia Latina* 62, 543-48.
