ENRICO di EGWINT. — Dominican mystic of the 14th century, called in the documents Eckebant, Eckewind, Ekewind, Heepont. Four sermons by him are preserved in a manuscript at Einsiedeln, together with another by Meister Eckart that was falsely attributed. Through the depth of his ideas, his language rich in images, and his accumulation of concepts, E. reveals himself as a disciple of Meister Eckart. On 21 September 1317 he appears as prior of Würzburg, and on 29 June 1318 as prior of Ratisbona. In this capacity, together with two confrères, he was appointed procurator of the papal collectors. On 11 July he again assumed the priorate of Ratisbona.
