FABRIS, Luigi Maria. — Priest, born in Vicenza on 6 Dec. 1805, died there on 10 June 1857. Founder of the Institute of the Sons of Charity, he directed until his death the infant charity asylum, while also attending to the education of the deaf-mute. A patriot, in 1848 he offered to his country the gold medal of merit granted him by the Austrian government and addressed two noble printed letters to his fellow citizens. He left various writings, including a Perpetual Sacred Diary for the city and diocese of Vicenza (Thiene 1860).
