FERRAZZI, GIUSEPPE JACOBO. – Priest and man of letters, b. at Cartigliano (Vicenza) on 20 March 1813, d. at Bassano on 3 May 1887. Persecuted by Austria and suspended from teaching as an advocate of Italian identity, he was nevertheless able to resume teaching through the intervention of the archbishop of Udine. Of his works, the Manuale dantesco (5 vols., Bassano 1865–77) deserves particular mention.
